ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE

Active Release Technique (A.R.T) is a safe and very effective manual treatment for soft tissue injuries such as muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.  Chronic and acute injuries to the soft tissues may be the cause of a wide variety of painful problems.  Soft tissue injuries can affect just about any area of the body.  Chronic neck pain, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches, shin splints, rotator cuff problems, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, can all be resolved with A.R.T.  These conditions have one thing in common and that is they are often the result from over-used muscles.

The goal of A.R.T. is to restore optimal texture, motion, and function of the soft tissue and release any entrapped nerves or blood vessels. This is accomplished through the removal of adhesions or fibrosis in the soft tissues via the application of specific protocols. Adhesions can occur as a result of acute injury, repetitive motion, and constant pressure or tension.   Properly trained A.R.T. providers are able to identify and correct abnormal changes in the muscles that result from overuse.

They eliminate the pain and dysfunction associated with these adhesions. The successful rate is very high when properly trained providers treat these conditions. till have more work to do.
