GRASTON TECHNIQUE
The Graston Technique (GT) is an evidenced-based form of manual therapy known as soft-tissue instrument-assisted mobilization. It incorporates the use of instruments with a specialized form of massage of scraping the skin gently to detect and treat scar tissues and restrictions that affect normal function.
Our Chiropractors normally combine ART and GT to reduce the patient’s pain and increase function by breaking down the scar tissue and fascia restrictions that are usually associated with some form of trauma to the soft tissue: reducing restrictions by stretching connective tissue in an attempt to rearrange the structure of the soft tissue being treated, and promoting a better healing environment for the injured tissue.
